***THERE IS NO OBSERVATION ALLOWED DURING CLASS SESSIONS. PARENTS/GUARDIANS ARE TO WAIT OUTSIDE THE DANCE ROOMS (GYM/APR/CLASSROOM) UNTIL STUDENTS HAVE BEEN DISMISSED.
Morning & Evening Arrival: Students should arrive 5 min before class begins. Please make sure your child has had a bathroom break before class, as this helps eliminate the need for “emergency” bathroom breaks during class. We ask that students do not arrive late, for it may cause distraction during instruction. Parents are allowed to drop off students or stay for the entire portion of class.
After-School Arrival/Pick-Up: Students will be dismissed directly to their dance class After-School. If the program is not directly After-School, students should arrive 5 or 10min before class, and should already be dressed in dance attire. Please make sure students have packed a light snack and change of clothes the night before. It is very important that students attend all dance classes, as excessive absences and tardiness can prevent a student’s progress. While there are some understandable excused absences (illness, funeral, mandatory school/church functions), it is responsible to be present for class if there are no circumstances hindering the students attendance. There are no Make-Up classes for students who are absent. Student Pick-Ups are to be done ON TIME. Please notify the Director or Staff member prior to class ending if your child will be picked up late or if another Authorized Person will pick-up your child (Must Bring Photo-ID).
Late Pick-Up: (After- School ONLY) Please send a text to 301-304-8873 or email DANCE@skysthelimitdc.com if you will be running late. Please be mindful of the staff’s time!
Dress Code/Code of Conduct: Students are to come to class already dressed in their proper dance attire. Please contact your child’s classroom teacher to see if your child can get dressed a few minutes before or during dismissal (After-School ONLY). Hair shall be properly secured. No jewelry shall be worn in class (unless small earrings). Dance shoes should ONLY be worn in class, NOT outside of class. Students must mark their belongings clearly with their full name. This makes it easier to return lost items. All students are to come to class ready to participate. NO ONE is to sit out, unless student shows case of illness/sickness, or bodily injury. Students are to be respectful to ALL STAFF and PEERS at all times. Students who are disruptive will be ask to sit out during instruction or dismissed from class (Parents/Guardians will be notified before/or after action is put in place). Parents/Guardians are responsible for any facility damages caused by the student.
Dance Showcase: Please email or notify your child’s dance teacher if your child WILL NOT be in attendance for the dance showcase. Students who miss the last 2 dance classes will not be able to participate in the Showcase.
Behavior/Discipline Policy: Appropriate behavior is expected of all participants during the dance session(s). Respectful interactions between program participants and staff are essential to having a successful program experience.
Bullying, fighting, inappropriate behavior/language and continual disregard for STLDC policies and procedures cannot be tolerated. Staff will do their best to redirect any misbehavior and resolve any issues to achieve a positive outcome for all involved. If positive outcomes cannot be achieved, or if a participant exhibits continuous disruptive behavior, Sky’s The Limit School of Dance reserves the right to suspend or dismiss the participant from the program without refund.
Parents/Guardians are responsible for any facility damages caused by the student.
Medical Information: It is extremely important that we have all necessary medical information concerning your child. The responsibility for administering medications rests with the participants school nurse, parent or legal guardian. It is important that all medication be taken at home or before dance class. No staff is permitted to administer medication.
***PLEASE INFORM US if your child needs to bring a prescription drug or device (i.e inhaler, EpiPen) for preventive reasons or emergency conditions such as seizures, heart conditions, asthma, or allergy conditions. MUST BE SELF-CARRIED BY PARTICIPANT.
Cancellation/Make-Up: It is our intention to remain open for all scheduled classes. Parents/Guardians will be notified by email, text message, website and/or answering machine if we must close or cancel class for severe weather conditions or any other circumstance. When in doubt give us a call or email. Due to any cancellation, Parents/Guardians will be further notified if class will be able to have a Make-Up day. Refunds are not given if class is cancelled and there are no Make-Ups.

A 100% REFUND will be given to parents for registrations canceled BEFORE the start of dance class, and a 50% REFUND (for ONLY unattended dance classes) will be given for registrations canceled AFTER the start of dance class. Class Cancellations due to inclement weather, emergencies and/ or by STLDC are NON-REFUNDABLE (STLDC will do their best to reschedule a class Make-Up day).
